Clarity Before Noise
13 June 2024
Clarity before noise isn’t advice about putting your phone down.
It’s an operating principle: at any given moment, there is information that’s relevant to what you’re building, and information that’s just noise. The ability to tell them apart isn’t innate — it’s a skill built deliberately.
Why AI makes this harder
AI tools generate content faster than you can absorb it. The inbox fills. Notifications multiply. And instead of having fewer decisions to make, you have the same decisions plus a new layer of output you need to filter.
The principle in practice
Clarity isn’t the absence of input. It’s a clear picture of which questions are currently open and which inputs might help answer them.
Everything else is noise — no matter how intelligent it sounds.
This is a seed idea. It grows through use.
